TEHRAN (Tasnim) An Iranian deputy foreign minister discussed enhancement of Tehran-Oslo relations in diverse fields with ranking Norwegian officials, in light of coming into force of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a lasting nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.

Irans Deputy Foreign Minister for American and European Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi met senior Norwegian officials in Oslo on Wednesday to explore avenues for the enhancement of bilateral ties.

In a meeting with Anniken Huitfeldt, chair of the Norwegian parliaments committee on foreign affairs and defense, Takht Ravanchi said a new age has begun in the economic relations between the two countries.

He also voiced Irans policy of constructive interaction with other countries for political settlement of conflicts and establishment of peace and stability.

For her part, Huitfeldt expressed the Scandinavian nations support for the expansion of parliamentary ties with Iran.

In a separate meeting, Takht Ravanchi and Norways Minister of Trade and Industry Monica Maeland discussed ways for making the most of the investment opportunities in Irans market.

Voicing Norways eagerness to invest in new markets, like that of Iran, Maeland hoped that the new conditions would bring about a rise in Tehran-Oslo economic ties, particularly in the oil and gas industry, fishery, and renewable energies.

Heading a trade delegation, Takht Ravanchi has travelled to Oslo to attend the 6th round of Iran-Norway political negotiations.

The visit comes against the backdrop of a new wave of interest in ties with Iran after implementation of the JCPOA, the nuclear deal between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).
