Zangeneh: Japanese PM to visit Iran

Tehran, Feb 15, IRNA Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said on Monday that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will visit Iran in 2016.


Zanhaneh made the remarks after a meeting with Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Katsuyuki Kawai.
Zangeneh said the ground is now prepared for Iran-Japan cooperation in oil refining, LNG, petrochemicals, joint venture investment and project financing.
He said that the current visit of Japanese delegation, led by Kawai, aims to explore mutual interests for cooperation and make preparation for visit of the Japanese prime minister to Iran.

He said that with lifting the sanctions, Iran-Japan relations will make remarkable growth.
He underlined that Iran has longstanding ties with Japan and is interested in strategic relations with Japan.
The minister said that despite both governments are willing to develop economic cooperation, unfortunately, the agreements already made were not implemented due to sanctions.
