Israel seeks government change in Syria to undermine resistance: Nasrallah

Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary general of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, says Israel seeks government change in Syria in order to undermine the resistance front.

Israel prefers the Daesh Takfiri terroristsandal-Qaeda militantsto the Syrian government,Nasrallah saidin a televisedaddress to the Lebanese nation on Tuesday.

The government of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad poses a danger to the interests of the Israeli regime, he said.

Israel agrees with Saudi Arabia and Turkey that anysolution to the crisis in Syria must not prolong the existence of the government in Damascus, Nasrallah said.

The Hezbollah chief also said that the Israeli regime is also after theformation of an alliance with someSunni states, warning the Arab countries thatthiswould only serve the interests of the Israeli regime.

Israel only looks after its own interests, he warned.

Nasrallah drew the attention of Arab states tothe Israeli crimes against Sunni statessince its creation.

"How can any sane person in Sunni states consider Israel as a friend,ally or a protectorate?" he asked.
If Israel becomes an ally of Sunni states, "Palestine will be lost eternally," he warned.

He added that Israel also sees Iran and the resistance movement in Palestine and Lebanon as threats.
