Rafsanjani: People, Gov’t, Int’l community keen on dynamic elections

Tehran, Feb 6, IRNA – Head of Expediency Council said on Saturday that Iranian nation and government as well as the international community are willing to hold a dynamic election in presence of the political, scientific, cultural and religious candidates.

‘Iran’s atmosphere might not be ripe for freedom of expression and free debates yet, but the universities, and especially the Islamic Open University, have played great part in that respect,’ he said.

He said that the university students have worries about a free and fair election, just like the entire Iranian nation, especially the youth.
Rafsanjani said that they meanwhile have a strong will and determination for responsible participation in elections in accordance with the laws and the concerned officials should therefore provide the people with means for such a presence and easing such worries.
