Sanctions removal to boost tourism: VP

Qeshm Island, Jan 13, IRNA Vice president and head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization welcomed withdrawal of sanction within 48 hours saying it will result in development of tourism.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of a tourism exhibition here on Wednesday, Masoud Soltanifar said that two years ago it was not imaginable that Iran will succeed in unequal negotiations and secure the objective of safeguarding the nuclear rights and removal of sanctions.
'Iran is on the verge of stepping into new conditions in which we will witness development, growth, and prosperity in all executive aspects of the country,' he added.
He said Iran's average annual tourist growth was 12 percent for the last two years which is higher than the global 4.6 percent average.
Soltanifar also said that US Congress bill on limiting travel to Iran will not negatively affect tourists' arrival while the number of American visitors has doubled.
