Iran launches English TV network for kids
Qom, Jan 2, IRNA Iran has launched the worlds first satellite channel for Muslim kids in English language.

Talking in the inauguration ceremony of the channel Friday night, head of Saba Company which owns the channel Ehsan Helmi said that the channel was built on an initative by the representative of the Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani in Iran with the objective of employing highest technology to advance the publicity policies of religious centers.

He said work on the channel started six years ago.

The company successfully launched the first channel for Shia kids in Arabic language in 2010 and then the first channel for Muslim kids in Persian in 2012.

He said the Saba Company is presently broadcasting programs on the lives of great Islamic figures including the Infallible Household of Prophet Muhammad as well as Islamic traditions and thoughts across the globe.

The three channels are being watched in the world under the brand name of Hod Hod, hoopoe in English, a colourful bird found across Afro-Eurasia, notable for its distinctive 'crown' of feathers.
