Irans Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has expressed confidence thatthe Iraqi army and volunteer fighters will recapture all areas in the country from Takfiri terrorists soon.

In a message to Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari on Tuesday, Zarif congratulated the Iraqi government and nation on the full liberation of the strategic city of Ramadi from the grips of Takfiri Daesh terrorist group.

The Iranian minister expressed confidence that unity, national cohesionand bravery of the Iraqi armed forces and popular forces, including Shias, Sunnis and Kurds, will lead to the liberation of other areas in Iraq from Takfiri terrorists in the near future.

In a televised statement on Monday, Iraqi military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Rasool declared that the city of Ramadi, the capital of the western province of Anbar, has been "fully liberated" fromDaesh.

The liberation of Ramadi, where the Iraqi flag was raised on Monday over government buildings, marks a key victory against Daesh terrorists.

The strategic city fell into the hands of Daesh in May, months after the terrorist group overran territories in northern Iraq. The Iraqi forces have managed to liberate some key towns and villages from the grips of the Takfiri group includingTikrit and Baiji in Salahuddin Province.

Seizing control over Ramadi would prepare the ground for the long-anticipated offensive into Mosul, the largest city Daesh controls in Iraq.
