Irans anti-terrorist role can't be undermined: Pak top official

Islamabad, Dec 24, IRNA Pakistans Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that absence of Iran from 34-nation coalition would not undermine countrys brilliant role in fighting terrorism.

Responding to a question posed by IRNA on Wednesday, Pakistan top diplomat said that Iran is very active in fighting terrorism.

Commenting on the 34 nation coalition in which Iran had not been included, he said: Iran is very active in fighting terrorism so I dont think one should confine everything to one coalition.

He went on to say that there are other initiatives which Iran is joining at global or regional level. In many cases, including fighting terrorism, Pakistan and Iran are cooperating very closely, he said.
