Iran, China to boost media ties

TEHRAN, Dec. 22 (MNA) A media delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran is in China to enhance media related relations.

The delegation includes a group of editor in chiefs, editors as well as manager of Irans media which traveled to China upon the invitationof China Journalists Association and to expand media relations.

The 7-member delegation will visit a number of Beijing and Shanghais cultural and media centers during three days.

The Iranian representatives met Chinas Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director-General of Western Asia and North Africa Deng Li today in the ministry as well as Irans ambassador to China Ali Asghar Khaji in the Iranian Embassy.

During the meeting, the Iranian official responded on investment opportunities in Iran, the initiative of Chinese President Xi Jinping One Belt, One Road and concerns over the quality of Chinese products.

Referring to the trips made by the Iranian and Chinese presidents last year and the significance of Xi Jinping to Iran, he said that important plans have been made for the visit.

Talking about Iran joining the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), he added that it was welcomed at the 14th annual summit of heads of state held in JenJo.

The Iranian ambassador also said that China uses its domestic currency for trade with 37 countries and the grounds are being paved for Iran and China to deal in the same way as well.
