Official: Banking relations to be normalized by lifting sanctions

Tehran, Dec 20, IRNA – As soon as anti-Iran sanctions are lifted, Iran will witness normal banking relations with the world, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Valiollah Seif said.

Exclusively talking to IRNA, Seif said the international banks had no effective relations with the Iranian banks in the past years (sanctions era.)

On December 15, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board adopted a landmark resolution on Iran possible military dimensions (PMD) case.

On that day, the IAEA Board of Governors voted in favor of a draft resolution proposed by the six world powers to declare end to investigations into Iran’s nuclear activities in the past.

About the Tuesday IAEA Board decision, Seif said it brought positive impacts.

After the upcoming removal of sanctions, the banking conditions will witness normal conditions, noted Seif.

About his last-week trip to Algeria, Seif said economic talks were held between the two sides.

The two officials also inked an agreement on economic cooperation.

Also, Tehran and Algiers agreed to launch a joint bank to boost trade exchange, he added.
