TEHRAN (Tasnim) � Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani underlined the need for a serious international resolve to root out terrorism in the world.

Speaking at a joint press conference with the visiting President of the French Senate Gerard Larcher on Saturday, Larijani said he had �serious dialogue� with the French lawmaker about terrorism.

�We need a serious international resolve in counterterrorism (efforts),� he reiterated.

�There are realistic reservations about terrorism that should be taken into consideration,� Larijani said, adding that his talks with Larcher were �constructive and progressive�.

Larijani further pointed to the recent terrorist attacks in Paris and said France has the rights to be active in counterterrorism efforts in the region.

Since mid-November France has launched a new series of raids against ISIL strongholds in Syria after terrorists killed over 130 people and injured 350 others in the European country�s capital.
