State of emergency declared in S. California county over December attack

California Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency in San Bernardino County, citing the December 2 deadly shooting attack in which a couple opened fire at a local social services center, media reported Saturday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) The move allows the state to allocate funds to the county health department "until the county is able to resume normal staffing levels," and suspends fees on "copies of certificates of death records by any person who suffered a loss of a family member due to the terrorist attack," The Economic Times reported, citing the declaration.
Syed Rizwan Farook, the 28-year old American-born son of immigrants from Pakistan, and his 27-year-old Pakistani immigrant wife Tashfeen Malik shot and killed 14 people in San Bernardino on December 2. The attack is seen as a terrorist act by US authorities.
According to the media, Brown mentioned that 26 people were wounded in the attack. Until now, officials had only mentioned 22 wounded.
