Parties affiliated to Saudi regime not seeking to end war: Yemeni official
TEHRAN (Tasnim) The president of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee of Yemen slammed the Saudi-backed parties involved in UN-sponsored Yemeni peace talks in Switzerland, saying that they do not want a permanent ceasefire in the Arab country.

In the ongoing talks (in Switzerland), we have not witnessed serious determination on the part of the other side (Saudi-backed parties), Mohammed Ali al-Houthi said in an interview with the Tasnim News Agency.

Their objective behind the talks is not to stop the war in entire Yemen, but they only want a ceasefire takes place in certain areas, he said, adding that the Houthi movement want the war ends throughout Yemen.

However, the Yemeni official expressed the hope that the UN would show seriousness to end the protracted crisis in the Arab country.

UN peace talks began on Tuesday away from television cameras in Switzerland to try to end months of conflicts in Yemen.

The defenseless people of the Arabian Peninsula country have been under massive attacks by a coalition led by the Saudi regime for nearly nine months.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies began to launch deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

According to Yemeni health ministry, the death toll from the Saudi-led war so far has reached more than 6,000 people, including 1,277 children and 1,041 women.
