Tehran, Dec 18, IRNA � Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Friday that implementation of the Additional Protocol by Iran will be temporary and voluntarily before its ratification by the Parliament.




Araqchi, also a senior member of the Iranian nuclear negotiating team, said that after the closure of Iran's nuclear file, the two sides will have to implement the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached on July 14, which requires Iran to implement the Additional Protocol.


Araqchi noted that it will take nearly three weeks for Iran to take the preliminary steps for temporary and voluntary implementation of the Additional Protocol.

Iran will continue with the voluntary and temporary implementation of the Additional Protocol until the Parliament approves its permanent implementation, Araqchi said.

However, he noted that as the Iranian lawmakers have approved the JCPOA, they have actually approved the implementation of the Additional Protocol which is part of the JCPOA.
