Araqchi: Sanctions to be lifted in three weeks after IAEA resolution

Tehran, Dec 15, IRAN- Sanctions on Iran will be lifted in three weeks after the International Atomic Energy Agency Board of Governors passes resolution on Iran, senior negotiator Abbas Araqchi said on Tuesday.

Speaking to IRNA, Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs and head of implementation of JCPOA headquarters Abbas Araqchi predicted on Tuesday that after approval of IAEA Board of Governor resolution, economic sanctions on Iran will be lifted in three weeks.
He said the meeting of the IAEA Board of Governor is underway and IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano read out a technical, professional and unbiased report on the status of Iran's nuclear program.
The report acknowledged non-diversion of Iranian nuclear program which nullified the previous allegations against Iran, he said.
Amono said in his report that alleged studies dated back to before 2003 but Iran ruled out the allegation as baseless, he said.
In the current IAEA Board of Governors meeting, Germany on be half of G5+1 has offered a draft resolution and representatives of some 37 countries have signed up a list to deliver speech and at the end Iran's representative will deliver his statement and will respond to any probable questions, if any, he said.
After approval of the resolution, Iran will enter into another phase in which two significant tasks should be carried out: one to make some changes in Arak reactor and the second is transfer of enriched uranium to Russia in return for yellow cake, he said.
