TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Former Esteghlal of Tehran coach Amir Ghalenoei has been named as new head coach of Tractor Sazi of Tabriz football team.
Ghalenoei has penned an 18-month cobtract with Tabriz-based football team.
In the 2011–12 season, Tractor Sazi finished runner-up under Ghalenoei’s management.
Ghalenoei replaced Toni Oliveira, who parted company with Tractor Sazi on Tuesday, in the team.
Former Sepahan coach Hossein Faraki and former Tractor Sazi coach Rasoul Khatibi were also among the candidates.
Toni took charge of the Tabriz-based team on a one-and-a-half-year deal in February.
The 69-year-old Portuguese coach replaced Khatibi but failed to win the title with Tractor Sazi last season.
