Iran ranks first in nano technology in ME

Tehran, December 8, The Iran Project- Deputy for Technology Development says that the products selling of Iranian knowledge-based firms hit 60 thousand billion Rials last year, noting Iran's unrivaled position in nano technology in the Middle East.


Speaking to a reporter, Dr. Ali Vatani, the deputy for Technology Development of the Scientific and Technological Department of Presidential Office elaborated the recent moves by the department aiming to extend the technology development and to support knowledge based firms and commercialization of their products.

He also stressed the need to support the knowledge-based firms productions by ensuring marketing, adding that their products selling hit 60 thousand billion Rials last year.

The deputy will participate in technology development of more deprived provinces up to 50%, he stated, further explaining about the post-deal era and its influence on the countrys knowledge based firms.

Vatani noted the governments contribution to the proposals pilots, as a top priority, in order to overcome obstacles of commercialization of the firms product. He also underlined that while in 2013 there have been only twoknowledge based firms in Iran, the number has increased to 1,850 firms in 2015.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the share of Iran in science production, reiterating that Iran ranks first in Nano science in the Middle East and seventh in the world. Highlighting Irans remarkable progress in biotechnology, he said that Iran also ranks first in the region and 21th in the world in biotechnology scientific productions.

Medical plants, traditional medicine and aerospace technology are the other areas in which Iran has unrivaled position in both the region and the world, he said.
