TEHRAN, Dec. 07 (MNA) � Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed gratitude to the Iraqi government and nation for the glorious holding of mourning ceremonies during the Arbaeen ritual.

In his statement released on Sunday which was submitted to Iraqi Prime Minister Haider�al-Abadi by Iran's ambassador to Iraq, Dr. Rouhani admired Iraqi government and nation for hospitality, good planning of the religious event and helping maintain the safety of the Iranian pilgrims, taking part in the Arbaeen rallies, marking the 40th day of mourning for Imam Hossein after he was martyred on the day of Ashura.

In response to the statement, Haider�al-Abadi said�the mourning ceremony of Imam Hossein (AS) was held successfully in all fields including security, transportation and facilitation of pilgrims' march towards Karbala, despite the�harsh conditions imposed on Iraq due to the war against terrorism in the country.
