Tehran, Dec 3, IRNA -- Iranian Ambassador to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Alireza Jahangiri voiced concern over non-membership of Israel in disarmament agreements, including the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

�Iran is the biggest victim of chemical weapons,� Jahangiri said, the Iranian Embassy in the Netherlands reported.

He pointed to the international concerns with regard to security threats caused by Israel, and said, �Chemical-armed countries need to meet the set deadlines on the complete elimination of their stockpiles.�

Jahangiri also praised the OPCW for the establishment of an international network to support the victims of chemical weapons.

�Iran calls on all OPCW member-states to do their best to exert pressure on the Zionist regime and and some OPCW non-member states to join the convention of prohibition of chemical weapons,� he added.
