Zarif to visit Pakistan next week

Islamabad, Dec. 3, IRNA Pakistani Foreign Ministry Spokesman Qazi Khalilollah announced that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will visit Pakistan next week.

He said that Zarif is to participate in a conference dubbed as 'Istanbul Process: Heart of Asia' with the aim to help resolve problems in Afghanistan.

Khalilollah made the remarks during his weekly press briefing here on Thursday.

He said that Foreign Ministers of Iran, China, Afghanistan and Tajikistan have confirmed their participation so far.

The conference will kick off on Wednesday December 9 at the level of foreign ministers of Afghanistan neighboring countries as well as a number of regional and non-regional states and at the presence of representatives from international bodies.

Pakistan media quoting official sources, without mentioning names, wrote on Thursday morning that India's Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj will attend the conference, too.
