Najafi: Amano report to be released in 2 days

Vienna, Dec 1, IRNA Iran Ambassador and Permanent Representative in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Reza Najafi said the report by the nuclear watchdogs chief Yukia Amano is to be released in time limit of two days.

Talking to IRNA here on Tuesday, he said Amano is to release his report about the PMD (Possible Military Dimensions) of Irans nuclear program this evening or mostly next morning.

He said after the IAEA technical report is presented to the organizations Board of Governors on December 15, the agreement between Iran and the 5+1 will be reviewed in a special meeting.

He said once the IAEA chiefs report is released, there will be a resolution on need to take necessary actions to close the PMD issue.

According to the official, the resolution will be reviewed and adopted in a meeting one day prior to the session by the IAEA Board of Governors.

Commenting on the recent remarks by the IAEA Director General who said the PMD report is neither black nor white, Najafi said the international body is certainly entitled to voice its technical opinions as its nature requires.

He said it could comment only on technical issues as many of the issues raised in the document are of political nature.

Earlier, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) spokesman Behruz Kamalvandi said what really counts is the agency's report and Board of Governors' decision not the remarks of its Director General.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Director General for Political and International Affairs Hamid Baeedinejad, too, who also heads Irans technical team in talks with the 5+1, said that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should prove itself taking unbiased stance prior to releasing its final report.

He said on his Instagram account that it is the time for the international community to see whether or not the IAEA is functioning.

This is while Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif has stressed that the case pertaining to Irans nuclear activities has mistakenly dubbed as Possible Military Dimension as the Iranian nuclear program had never had any possible military dimension so allegations are invalid.
