IRGC commander lauds supremacy of Irans intelligence forces

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari praised the Iranian intelligence and security forces, saying that all attempts by enemies to insecure the country have been thwarted by the forces supremacy.

The enemies have made many efforts to make Iran insecure, but our intelligence and security supremacy has thwarted their conspiracies, Major General Jafari said in a speech on Friday at the site of a large-scale war game, codenamed Ela Beit ul-Muqaddas' (Towards al-Quds), held by the Iranian Basij (volunteer) Force near the holy city of Qom.

The enemies know well that they can no longer use the language of force in dealing with the Islamic Republic, because the country has turned into a great regional power, the commander added.

He further hailed the countrys Basij forces, and said world countries are looking with envy at Iran since Basij forces are powerfully present at the scene of defending the country with their faith.

The main stage of the military exercise kicked off on Friday morning with the participation of 120 Basij battalions, serving in the corps of the province of Tehran.

The Ela Beit ul-Muqaddas war game is aimed at exercising tactics for the liberation of the holy city of al-Quds in Palestine.

High-ranking officials have gone to the scene of the war game, including IRGC Lieutenant Commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami, IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, IRGC Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, Basij Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, and others.

The Basij is a paramilitary volunteer force established in 1979 on the Late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini's order.

The force consists of often young Iranians, who have volunteered, with a strong sense of fidelity to both the Islamic system and the religious beliefs.
