Talks on timely implementation of JCPOA going well: Irans negotiator

TEHRAN (Tasnim) A top Iranian diplomat said the ongoing expert negotiations over the timely implementation of the recent nuclear deal with six world powers, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), are progressing well.

After the adoption stage, the talks aimed at making preparations for the implementation of the nuclear agreement are seriously underway at all levels, Hamid Baeedinejad, the director general for political and international affairs at Iran's Foreign Ministry, said on his Instagram account.

Fortunately, it can be said that up to now, coordination is well underway between Iran, the members of the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), he stated.

The Iranian diplomat, who is also the head of the countrys negotiating team in the expert-level talks, further expressed the hope that the practical implementation of the nuclear deal would start by the years end.

On Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with US Secretary of State John Kerry on the sidelines of Syria talks in Vienna, Austria, to hear about Washingtons measures under the JCPOA and make sure that Irans demands are being met.

Speaking to reporters before leaving Vienna for Tehran, the top Iranian diplomat said the three-hour meeting with his US counterpart was aimed at hearing Washingtons explanations of what it has done in the interval between the adoption of the JCPOA and the implementation day.

The meeting was also to make sure that Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khameneis views about the nuclear deal are being observed, Zarif stressed at the time.

Tehran and the Group 5+1 (also known as P5+1 or E3+3) on July 14 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehrans nuclear program.

Sunday, October 18, was the so-called adoption day for the deal, which came 90 days after the two sides concluded their intensive negotiations in the Austrian capital of Vienna.

The nuclear deal would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.
