TEHRAN - Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the chairman of the Expediency Council, said on Saturday that the fight against terrorist groups entails a strong international will.

�If Iran�s principled position in fighting terrorism had been heeded, its dimensions in the region [the Middle East region] and the world would not have been so vast,� he said at an Expediency Council�s meeting.

He added that spread of terrorism poses serious threat against the world, citing terrorist attacks in France as example.

Press TV reported that a string of coordinated attacks in and around the French capital of Paris has left 127 people dead and some 200 others injured.
