Jahangiri: Envoys carry heavy responsibility after Vienna agreement

Tehran, Nov 12, IRNA -- First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri called on Iran's diplomatic missions in foreign countries to make optimum use of the opportunities created in the post-sanctions era.

'Striking a nuclear agreement (with the world powers) was a great job and from now on the ambassadors play a crucial and important role in increasing interactions with the world and restoration of economic cooperation,' Jahangiri said.

The Iranian first vice-president said that the country needs attraction of foreign investment for implementation of its project in different sectors, and said, 'There are projects worth over $200 billion in the oil and gas sectors which are ready for attracting foreign investment and in other areas such as roads and urban development there are numerous projects which need foreign investment attraction.'

Jahangiri pointed to the agreement reached between Tehran and the six world powers in Vienna on July 14, and said, 'Fortunately despite some oppositions towards the nuclear agreement, the opinion polls show that the majority of the people are in favor of the nuclear agreement and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and they are happy with it.
