Iran to host 2017 convention of WFTGA

Tehran, November 9, The Iran Project -The head of Iran Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (IFTGA) said Iran is to host 2017 Convention in Tehran.

Speaking in a meeting with tourist guides in Kashan on Sunday evening, Arash Miraghaei, Iran's IFTGA president said that in the World Federation of Tourist Guide Association (WFTGA) 2015 convention which was held in Prague, the Czech Republic last January, Iran was chosen to host 2017 convention, while countries such as Singapore and Denmark also made bids to host the event.

Referring tourism as an industry that requires peace and hospitality, he stressed that tour guides are the largest wealth of Iran's tourism.

Miraghaei also stated that the 2017 convention is an opportunity to improve and reform the country's tourism infrastructures, mentioning the bike riding tour from Caspian sea to Persian Gulf as a move aiming to introduce 2017 convention.

This is the first time Iran bids to host the Convention, a biannual gathering of tourist guides from more than 70 countries, in 2017.

The motto of the Convention is Iran; Friendly Faces, Open Arms, Ancient Cultures, Timeless Charms.
