Anti-arrogance policy, unchangeable in Islamic Republic

Tehran, Nov 4, IRNA Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council said here Wednesday that belief in anti-arrogance is unchangeable in the Islamic Republic's foreign policy.

Ali Shamkhani made the remarks at the second annual meeting of Iranian diplomats and envoys stationed abroad.

At the meeting, Shamkhani also marked Student Day as a day of fight against global arrogance.

Shamkhani further urged the diplomats to make use of the opportunities that have been created by the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and removal of anti-Iran sanctions.

Aban 13, falling on November 4, marks the seizure of the US Embassy in Tehran in 1979 and is a national day in the Islamic Revolution. Today is also known as the Student Day in Iran, marking National Day of Fight against Global Arrogance.

A large number of people, groups of students in particular, are marching from the University of Tehran to the premises of the former embassy in Taleqani Street.

Each year, demonstrators gather outside the building of the former US Embassy, also known as the Den of Espionage, and chant slogans against the United States.
