Iran, 'next travel hotspot': World Travel Market

Iran,
The World Travel Market Global Trends Report 2015 has introduced Iran as the next travel hotspot.

The recent sanction lift sparked a scramble to open Iran to international visitors, attracted by its ancient Persian history, 17 World Heritage Sites, as well as natural attractions, the report said, identifying the top emerging travel trends.

World Travel Market is the leading global event for the travel industry.

According to Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report 2015 conducted by the World Economic Forum (WEF), Iran is the most affordable country for tourists amongst the 141 countries.

Masud Soltanifar, the director of Irans Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Organization, says the country is expected to reach over $30 billion annual income in Iranian calendar year 1404 (March 2025-March 2026) by hosting more than 20 million tourists.
