Iran, IAEA meeting scheduled in Tehran on Dec. 15: Spokesman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) announced on Tuesday that Iran will hold a meeting with experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) here in Tehran in mid-December.

A meeting is scheduled to be held on December 15 between Iran and IAEA experts, Behrouz Kamalvandi told reporters.

It will be held before the planned release of a report by IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano on the UN Watchdogs concerns about Irans so-called PMD (possible military dimensions), he added.

On July 14, Iran and the IAEA signed a Road-map regarding the Islamic Republics nuclear work in the Austrian capital city of Vienna.

As part of the Road-map, the IAEA is required to finish its investigations about Irans nuclear activities and submit a report to the agencys board by December 15.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Kamalvandi referred to the start of Tehrans preliminary measures as per the text of a recent nuclear deal finalized on July 14 between Iran and world powers, dubbed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), according to which the country is supposed to reduce the number of its centrifuges.

Iran has started taking certain technical measures so that it would have enough time when it comes to implementing the agreement, he announced.

No centrifuge has been mothballed yet, he stressed, in reaction to certain reports on the removal of 200 centrifuges from Natanz nuclear site.

In similar remarks, Irans Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said last night that a certain number of centrifuge machines at Irans nuclear facilities will be mothballed within the next few days as part of Tehrans undertakings under the JCPOA.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France, and Germany) on July 14 reached a conclusion on a 159-page nuclear agreement that would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Tehran over its nuclear energy program.

The agreement was officially adopted on October 18, and is going to take effect within the next two months.
