Friend or foe; ISIS strategy towards Israeli regime

Alwaght- There are two different views on the relations between the Israeli regime and ISIS which are totally different and against each other.

The first view sees ISIS as an emerging threat to the Zionist regime, and in theory and practice considers this regime as one of its enemies. The second view holds that the Israeli regime has been one of the main creators and supporters of the ISIS terrorist group and it has greatly served the interests of the Israeli regime.

In the framework of the first view, in one hand they focus on statements of the ISIS about its hostility towards the Israeli regime and some of its actions, and on the other hands they highlight the statements of the Israeli officials in which they consider the ISIS a threat to the Israeli regime. In this regard, ISIS has published a poster in which, the Israeli regime, al-Ahrar al-Sham and the Islamic Front and other groups are introduced as the enemies of the ISIS which have launched attacks against this group. However, the important point in this view is the fact that ISIS treats the Zionist regime as its far enemy, while it considers the Shiites as its near or principal enemy.

In the analysis of the general policy of the ISIS, the political behavior of this group is examined within the opposition discourse of far enemy, near enemy,an opposition which was raised in recent decades by scholars and founders of the Takfiri ideas in Egypt.Accordingly, the intellectual approach of the leaders of this group is deeply influenced by the ideas of one of the Jihadist thinkers in Egypt known as Mohammed Abdul Salam Faraj.Parts of the ideas of Abdul Salam Faraj, with the theme of the priority of domestic battle over the fight outside the country suggests the roots of extremist behavior of the ISIS terrorist group and that is why in this approach, the Israeli regime does not get a high priority in the strategy of the Takfiri groups in Syria and Iraq. The position of the ISIS is clearly based on the theory of war in the Muslim community, and strengthens the ideas of fight against infidels or insurgents and apostates" which have been very common in the Takfiri discourse. As the practical implications of this discourse; although in the 1980s it led to the impression that the neighboring states of Israel, i.e. Egypt and Jordan are threatened by ISIS, today it has changed to a tribal discourse which is largely at odds with the ideas of the Shiite. In the meantime, the position of the ISIS as a Takfiri movement on Israeli attacks against Gaza, is remarkable. The group has formally rejected any confrontation with the Israeli regime and to justify this position, it has claimed that Jihad against Israel contradict the teachings of Islam.

ISIS missile attack against the Israeli regime is among the variables that are particularly discussed with regard to hostility of the ISIS towards the Israeli regime. In this regard, a group calling itself Sinai Province which also claimed alliance with the ISIS, announced that it has fired three Grad rockets on the positions of Jews in occupied Palestine; they claimed the rockets were fired to Israel as a sign of protest to Tel Avivs support for the Egyptian army.Meanwhile, Tel Aviv announced that two rockets hit southern Israel, but there were no casualties.

Another point which is worth mentioning is the way the Zionists face the ISIS threats. However, the important thing is that the Zionist figures, do not see the ISIS a major threats to their existence. That is why Yuval Steinitz, the Israeli Minister of International Relations and Minister of Strategic Affairs declared we would help the government of Hashemian in Jordan to protect themselves against the ISIS.He added: the ISIS is a serious threat for the region; however, the Iranian government constitute a much more serious threat to Israel and the world. He believes the ISIS would pose a threat just for a few years, but if Iran gets nuclear it would threatens our country for many years.

However, the important thing is that ISIS has an important role in promoting the Israel's policy and interests in the region, and this might be easily understood in the framework of their bilateral relations. In particular, there are reports about the behavior of the Zionists and their support for the ISIS.In this regard, according to a secret document obtained in a remote tribal area in Pakistan, disclosing the role of the Zionist regime in shaping the ISIS (Zionist extremist group), suggests that the ISIS group is aimed at paving the way for an unlimited war in 2017.This document holds Israel responsible for the formation of the ISIS, and calls Barack Obama, the puppet of the Zionists. The document pointed out that ISIS should refrain from wasting time for direct confrontation with the United States, and it should seek to spread panic in the West and expand its territory through North African countries like Libya.

There are also some reports on the cooperation and support of the Zionists from the ISIS, especially in the field of oil sales that uncovers the relations between the two sides. For instance, it is reported that the oil of the refineries in Iraq under control of the ISIS, are transferred to Israel through Ceyhan oil pipelines and oil tankers. In the meantime, an Azerbaijani billionaire known as Mobarez Monisimov has been the main agent for oil transit. The point is that the Israeli officials forged documents and presented the oil shipments in the Israeli port of Ashkelon as Eilat oil, even in some cases the Israeli regime exported the oil to some European countries.

In general, we may conclude that the interests of the Zionist regime in the West Asia had a major role in the formation of the ISIS, and there is no doubt that numerous documents about the collaboration of the Israeli regime with the ISIS, especially in Syria, including the delivery of arms and treating the wounded in Israeli field hospitals are evidence for this claim. Besides, the fact that ISIS has refrained from confrontation with the Israeli regime, and highlighted its hostility towards the Axis of Resistance are assessed by the same token.
