Tehran, Oct 29, IRNA – Foreign Minister, Mohammad-Javad Zarif, left Tehran to Vienna to attend Syria peace talks.
The meeting is to be held in Vienna on Friday.
Zarif is set to hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry today evening.
On Oct 25, Lavrov and Kerry on phone discussed prospects of inter-Syrian negotiations.
The Lavrov-Kerry talks, the second in consecutive days, focused on political settlement of the crisis in Syria.
They called for diplomatic solution of the crisis by representatives from the Syrian government and patriotic political opposition groups under the support of the global community.
They suggested that progressive countries in the region discuss and negotiate the prospects of talks.
On Saturday, the Russian and US top diplomats also conferred on the Friday Vienna talks on Syria, attended by the US, Russia, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
