Iraqi PM: Addressing Syrian crisis impossible without Iran, Russia

Baghdad, Oct 29, IRNA Resolving the crisis in Syria is not possible without Iran and Russia, says Iraqi Prime Minister Heidar al-Ebadi.

Receiving Mahmoud Vaezi, Iran's Minister of Communication and Information on Wednesday, al-Ebadi praised Iran's support for Iraq in the war against terrorism and said that without Iran and Russia ending the crisis in Syria is absolutely impossible.

'Baghdad supports finding a solution for the war against Daesh and the establishment of peace in Syria,' he said.

Appreciating Iran's assistance in Iraqi war against Daesh terrorists, the Iraqi Prime Minister also said that Baghdad has successfully restricted terrorist activities across the country.

Soon we are going to free other cities controlled by Daesh, al-Ebadi said.
Al-Ebadi who became the communication minister of Iraq following the fall of the Baathist regime in 2003, said that he welcomes communication ties between Iran and Iraq.

He expressed hope that with Iran's assistance Iraq would be able to do away with its backwardness related to the US occupation of the country.

Vaezi arrived in Iraq on an official visit on Tuesday and was received by the Iraqi officials to discuss mutual issues.
