36th Persian language, literature course offered in Latkia, Syria

Damascus, Oct 21, IRNA Latkia Cultural Center offered the 36th Persian language and literature course as of Wednesday.

According to the IRNA Office in Syria after the completion of the 35th Persian language and literature course in Latkia, that cultural center offered levels one through 3 of that course after a short break.
Public relations official of the Latkia (Lazqiyya) Cultural Center Abu Hussain al-Misri, in the re-opening ceremony of the course highlighted the great significance of getting acquainted with the Persian language and literature, which he said is the first step towards enjoying the invaluable works of the Persian poets, both of the past and of the contemporary era.
The other speaker in the ceremony, Iranian Cultural Attach in Latkia Nader Azad said that the Persian language is spoken today not only in Iran, but in Afghanistan and Tajikistan by the absolute majority of the people and in such countries as India and some Central Asian countries by minorities.
'A language is a gate towards understanding the other cultures and civilizations, and the Persian language in particular, is a gate towards comprehending the ancient Iranian culture and the international Iranian elites both in the literary and in the scientific fields.
Sponsored by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the course in Latkia Cultural Center has enrolled 66 students at three levels who will get certificates after completion of the courses.
