Tehran, Oct 18, IRNA � Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said on Sunday that implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is an important step toward building trust between Iran and West.

Shamkhani mmade the remarks in a meeting with the visiting German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Shamkhani stressed the straightforward and independent policies of Iran and said constructive interaction in line with mutual interests will open up a new chapter for all-out cooperation.

He referred to Iran�s decisive role in the region as well as determining role of Europe and said friendly relations between Iran and Germany will protect both countries� political and economic interests.

He said extremism and terrorism were the biggest security threats to the international community.

He emphasized the need for the international determination to uproot the supporters and sponsors of terrorist groups.

The senior Iranian official further highlighted the importance of confronting state terrorism which is going on in world in the most severely inhumane shape thanks to silence of international organizations.

The German foreign minister said his meetings with the Iranian officials were very good and constructive and hoped for expansion of relations.
