President instructs FM, AEOI to implement JCPOA

Tehran, Oct 17, IRNA President Hassan Rouhani on Saturday instructed Foreign Ministry and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) to begin implementation of the law on JCPOA, dubbed 'Iranian Government's Reciprocal and Proportional Action'.

Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani recently signed and handed the law on JCPOA to President Rouhani for implementation.
Irans 12-member Guardians Council ratified the bill to implement the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Wednesday, which had been approved earlier by the Iranian Parliament on Tuesday.
In a letter to President Rouhani, written this morning by Ali Larijani, the law was submitted to the President for implementation.
The provisions of the bill set out certain obligations that the administration has to observe in the implementation of the JCPOA.
Article 1 of the bill forbids either the production or application of nuclear arms by the Iranian administration based on a fatwa issued by the Leader and obliges the executive branch to participate in international and regional efforts aimed at countering the threat of such weapons.
According to Press TV, the remaining articles laid emphasis on, among other things, cooperation and mutual respect between the two sides of the agreement, the administrations mindfulness of the other partys potential failure in removing the sanctions or its reversing them, and the prevention of access by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to military sites unless allowed by Irans Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).
Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council the United States, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany reached an agreement on Irans nuclear program in the Austrian capital Vienna in mid-July.
