India good partner during sanctions or post-sanctions periods

Tehran, Oct 7, IRNA Head of Tehran Chamber of Commerce said on Wednesday Indian government stood by Iran during tough sanctions' era and Iran expects trade ties between the two countries will grow satisfactorily in post-sanctions period.

Bahman Eshqi made the comment in a meeting with the Secretary General of the Federation of Indian Exporters Organization (FIEO) Ajai Sahai.
He said that an atmosphere that will prevail after the termination of the economic sanctions which will be favorable for expansion of bilateral economic ties, especially between private sectors of the two countries.
'The historical and cultural ties of the two countries can serve expansion of other relations, keeping in mind that Iranian and Indian economic potentials are far beyond the current level of trade,' he added.
FIEO Secretary General Ajai Sahai said that the Indian private sector is interested in evermore expansion of relations with Iran.
'The Indian economy is rapidly developing and the Indians Gross National Income (GNI) has been on growing trend steadily during the past decades, while the Indian government has focused on development of the country's infrastructures as the best way to achieve sustainable development has very strong infrastructures,' said Ajai Sahai.
