Iran, Japan sign scientific cooperation agreement

Tehran, Oct 6, IRNA Iran and Japan have signed their first-ever deal to promote scientific cooperation between the two countries.

The document was signed by Irans Minister of Education, Research and Technology Mohammad Farhadi and his Japanese counterpart Hakubun Shimomura in Kyoto.

According to the document, the two countries are to cooperate in exchange of university students and scholars and joint research ventures.

Shimomura stressed Irans pivotal role in the Middle East and said implementation of the agreement will be a major stride towards enhancing research and scientific cooperation.
