Haeri said that Germany is producing 90,000 megawatts solar and wind energy, which is more than Irans total electricity output capacity and added Iran generates most of its electricity by its fossil fuel power plant, but the Energy Ministrys policy is willing to use renewable energy.
Haeri noted that Iran has great capacities in solar and wind energy, but unfortunately it cannot use the existing capabilities.
Germany is a developed industrial country, he said and added we hope to cooperate with Germany, considering its experiences in setting up power plants in Iran.
The senior advisor to energy minister for industrial and technology development and power supplies said: Germany generates 90,000 megawatts solar and wind energy, while Iran's total electric capacity is 74,000 megawatts now, including fossil, hydro, wind and solar power plants.
Olaf Lies, for his part, said that his country has very useful experience in the field of renewable energies and is ready to provide Iran with it. Currently Germany is providing 25 percent of its energy from renewable energy.
He said that Germany tends to exit from nuclear energy and provide more than 80 percent of its energy from renewable energy until year 2050 and added Iran has rich gas resources, so it is better to use combined cycle power plant by using gas, wind and solar energies.
Electricity price is high in Germany, so in the area of consumption management, Germany has great experiences which will be shared with Iran, he concluded.
