Majlis approves urgency bill on JCPOA

Tehran, Oct 4, IRNA Iran's Majlis (parliament) approved a single-urgency bill on Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action which is called 'Iranian government's reciprocal and proportional action' bill on Sunday.

The bill was proposed on the basis of double-urgency but lawmakers approved it as a single-urgency bill.

The bill permits government to implement the JCPOA voluntarily based on the Supreme National Security Council resolutions.

Hossein Naqavi Hosseini, spokesman for the Majlis special committee on JCPOA briefed lawmakers with the committee's final report on the issue.

Naqavi Hosseini read the report at an open session of the Majlis on Sunday morning with the presence of Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi and Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Hassan Ghashghavi.

Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani hailed the Majlis special committee on JCPOA for their hard efforts to clarify different aspects of it.

Larijani briefed MPs on the JCPOA and the double-urgency bill the parliament was examining.

In the parliaments closed-door session on Sunday, he outlined aspects of the double-urgency bill the lawmakers would consider during the open session of the legislative body later on during the day.

According to the representative Mohammad Sadat Ebrahimi, Larijani focused on the doors the implementation of the document opens for the country.

He told IRNA that the bill highlights the importance of further developing Irans missile and defense power and stressed various aspects of the document.
