Tehran, Sept 30, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif welcomed Russia's efforts to help the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's government in its ongoing fight against the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group in the Arab country.

'Iran welcomes Russia's efforts against the Daesh,' Zarif said on Wednesday.

The Iranian foreign minister reiterated that any attempt against the Daesh is regarded as positive, and said, 'It is important; it will move people to decide about the real political solution, so the war comes to its end.'

Russia's upper house of parliament approved earlier in the day the use of Russia's Air Force in Syria, following a request by President Assad.
