Lebanese ex-PM condoles President Rouhani over Mina tragedy

Beirut, Oct 1, IRNA Former Lebanese prime minister and head of Al-Mustaqbal Party Fouad Siniora, in a message to President Hassan Rouhani on Thursday, condoled over the deaths of hundreds of Iranian pilgrims in Hajj stampede in Mina near Mecca, Saudi Arabia last week.

In his message, Siniora described the incident as 'sad and painful' which affected all the Muslims across the world.

In a separate message, Lebanese Minister of Culture Raymond Araiji condoled with his Iranian counterpart Ali Jannati over the deadly incident.

In his message, Araiji sympathized with the Iranian nation, particularly the families of the victims.

According to an announcement by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, 465 Iranian pilgrims lost their lives in Mina incident.
