Yemeni Ansarullah in Saudi-occupied Jizan

Alwaght- While Saudi regime is busy dealing with Mina catastrophe and under pressure from world public opinion, Yemeni forces continue to their advances towards southern regions of Saudi Arabia and have inflicted heavy losses on military forces of Saudi Arabia, especially in Jizan region.

Late on Friday, the Yemeni forces declared that they have killed two senior officers of Saudi Arabia in Jizan region. On Saturday, Saudi Arabia officially confirmed the death of its top military commander in Jizan region.

According to the statement issued by Saudi Interior Ministry, Colonel Hassan bin Ghashum Aghili, the Border commander of al-Harth region together with an army sergeant were killed in an attack conducted by the Yemenis. On the other hands, Ansarullah movement said on Saturday that Popular Resistance forces succeeded to crash a Saudi Apache helicopter on the border between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

According to Fars News Agency, Mohammed Abdul Salam, the official spokesman of Ansarullah movement wrote on his personal page on Facebook that Popular Resistance forces of Yemen, on Saturday morning in Jizan managed to crash a Saudi Apache helicopter behind al-Hasireh military base in Jizan region. Meanwhile, al-Mayadeen TV reported that Saudi troops made attempts to reclaim the base from the Yemeni army; however, they failed and during the operation, 13 Saudi soldiers were killed. Recently, the attacks launched by Yemeni forces on the southern regions of Saudi Arabia have significantly increased. Over the last week, these forces aired the videos of shooting more than 60 Bradley and Abrams tanks which belonged to Saudi Arabia.

Najran critical conditions for the Saudis

Although Saudi Arabia imposes strict censorship on the news about the southern regions of the country, the reports circulated in the internet and the media reveal the critical conditions in Najran region of Saud Arabia.

On Thursday, Haykal Bafana, the Yemeni analyst wrote on his Twitter page that "an important event is taking place in Najran, on Saturday, the media reported that heavy clashes were going on between Saudi army and the opposing tribes of Najran.

There have been reportedly heavy clashes on Friday evening between Najran tribes and the Saudi army in Najran region near the Saudi border with Yemen, in which a number of troops on both sides were killed. According to the report, the Saudi army has accused Najran tribes of supporting terrorism, while the tribal leaders and their affiliated forces took to the streets of Najran, and denied the accusation and chanted slogans against Al Saud. On the other hands, some local sources in Najran reported that Sheikh Ali al-Hamzani the head of Hamzan tribe and one of the leaders of the Zaidiyyah opposition tribe in South Najran has been assassinated. The sources stressed that in the assassination of Sheikh al-Hamzani, eight people were killed and 20 others were wounded.

A member of the Hamzani tribe accused Al Saud of plotting the assassination of the head of the tribe, saying Sheikh al-Hamzani always openly expressed his opposition to Saudi regime. On Saturday, Haykal Bafana, the Yemeni analyst also reiterated on hisTwitter page that eight people were killed in Najran, by security forces of Saudi Arabia.

The regions of Najran, Jizan and Asir were used to be parts of Yemen territory; however, in 1934 Saudi Arabia occupied these regions and annexed them to Saudi Arabia. Analysts believe that one of the results of the war against Yemen was the disclosure of the fact that Saudi Arabia had occupied these regions, and for decades it has been trying to conceal it. Residents of these regions are mostly from Ismaili sect and have more religious and cultural similarities to Yemenis than other groups in Yemen.

After the aggression of Saudi Arabia against Yemen, the Yemeni tribes of Najran region declared war against the Saudi regime because it had occupied the region for such a long time. The tribes of Najran, are regarded as one of the largest anti-government tribes in Saudi Arabia. While Saudi Arabia deals with the critical conditions in its southern regions, the aggression of the Saudi-led coalition against Yemen enters its seventh month and the coalition has failed to achieve any significant achievement, except for the port city of Aden. Nevertheless, over the past months, Yemeni forces have wrested control over more areas in southern parts of Saudi Arabia.
