Iran to file complaint against Saudi Arabia

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Government Spokesman Mohammad-Bagher Nobakht said the country would file complaint against Saudi Arabia.

“We will file complaint against Saudi Arabia. This state should be held accountable instead of laying the blame on others,” he said.

He made the remark after 228 Iranian pilgrims were killed, 246 went missing and 27 others were wounded in Mina crush on Thursday due to mismanagement and incompetency of Saudi government.

Many Iranian senior officials have slammed Saudi Arabia over Mina tragedy and held it accountable for the deadly crush.

Earlier, some other Hajj pilgrims, including a number of Iranians were killed in crane collapse in Mecca.

Nobakht added that the UN general assembly annual conference in New York was a good opportunity to discus Mina tragedy, and Iran could raise the issue well there.
