Araqchi: 5+1 FMs emphasize need to lift JCPOA obstacles

New York, Sept 29, IRNA Senior Iranian nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi said on Tuesday Iranian and sextet foreign ministers in their last night meeting emphasized need for elimination of probable obstacles in the way of implementing the JCPOA.

Foreign ministers of six world powers, the EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini, and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif on Monday night convened a meeting in UN New York Headquarters to survey proper implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

'The Seven foreign ministers and Ms. Mogherini in that session expressed satisfaction over the proper implementation of the JCPOA on both sides of the deal during the past two months and expressed hope that after completion of the Iranian Parliament's survey of its text the process of implementing it will further accelerate,' said Araqchi.

Araqchi meanwhile noted that the process of implementing the Iran-IAEA roadmap and IAEA Chief Yukiya Amano's positive evaluation of that process, too, was praised in that session and the need to continue that process till resolving all ambiguities about the past and the PMD was emphasized.
