Iran is committed to JCPOA: Zarif

New York, Sept 24, IRNA - Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said Iran is committed to its undertakings under the nuclear Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached in July with the world powers.

He made the comments in a meeting with the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop in New York during which the two ministers exchanged views on bilateral ties, and regional issues.

Zarif expressed the hope that members of the P5+1 group, specially the western countries, will also observe their commitments stipulated in the nuclear deal.

Bishop welcomed the nuclear deal and hoped for its implementatin by the concerned parties.

Zarif and his Australian counterpart also consulted on the problems in Syria and Yemen and reitereated political settlement of the crises through bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Exchange of diplomatic and economic delegations, exchange of university students, Iranian work force's despatch to Australia, and settlement of the problems of Iranian emigrants in Australia were also discussed in the meeting.

Bishop repeated her invitiation to Iranian foreign minister.
