Iran, France to start talks on telcom satellite, IT parts: Minister

Tehran, Sept 21, IRNA - Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi said Iran and France will soon start negotiations on building and launching of national satellite.

Following his meeting with visiting Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad Matthias Fekl, he said eight communications and information technology comapanies headed by minister Fekl attended the talks.
The neogtiations focused on four items, he added, which were the national satellite, production of IT and communications equipment, network quality, and telecom operator.
Vaezi welcomed inauguration of France Trade Center in Iran, saying it will increase bilateral cooperation.
He also called for normalization of banking ties between Iran and France within the shortest possible time.
Fekl expressed satisfaction over the negotiations held in Iran and said future exchanges between the two countries will have the highest quality.
Following the nuclear deal, he said, a new chapter in relations of Tehran and Paris has opened.
Establishment of a joint commission was suggested at the talks which will be followed up, he said.
The French official expressed the hope that upcoming visit of President Hassan Rouhani to Paris starting on November 17 will set the ground to implement the negotiations.
