Saudi warplanes kill 25 Yemeni civilians in Sanaa

At least 25 civilians have been killed in Saudi airstrikes against residential areas in the Yemeni capital city of Sanaa.

Scores were also wounded after Saudi warplanes targeted the districts of Hasbah, Sawan as well as a sports stadium in the capital on Monday, Yemens Saba Net news agency reported.

The report further said that several residential houses as well as an administrative building were destroyed in the air raids.

Meanwhile, Yemens Ansarullah fighters and allied army units carried out retaliatory attacks on Saudi soil, killing three Saudi soldiers. The Saudi soldiers lost their lives when the allied forces launched an attack on al-Jalah military base in Saudi Arabias southern border region of Jizan on Sunday.

Yemeni military sources confirmed earlier in the day that they had downed a Saudi Apache helicopter in the al-Safer area in the central Marib province.

Saudi Arabia launched its military aggression against Yemen on March 26 without a United Nations mandate in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

The conflict has reportedly left more than 6,100people dead and thousands of others wounded.
