Velayati calls for expansion of ties between Iran, France

Tehran, Sept 19, IRNA - Head of the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council Ali-Akbar Velayati on Saturday called for expansion of ties between Iran and France.

Velayati made the remarks in a meeting with the former French interior minister Jean-Pierre Chevnement.
Nuclear deal opened a new chapter in Iran's relations with the western states including French, he added.
The official noted that grounds are prepared for expansion of ties between Iran and France.
Referring to hospitality of French nation during exile of founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini in the country, he praised France's independent foreign policy.
Velayati urged coordination between Iran and France to boost regional peace and alleviate sufferings of people Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
Both Iran and France believe that the humanitarian crises in Yemen, Syria and Iraq have no military solution and both Paris and Tehran have respect for these countries' sovereignty, he noted.
