Iran honors its commitments under JCPOA: Zarif

Beijing, Sept 17, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said that Iran honors its commitments under the terms of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached in Vienna on July 24 and that it's time to verify US sincerity in lifting the sanctions on Tehran.

Speaking during an interview with China Central Television (CCTV) that was aired by the Chinese broadcaster on Thursday night, Zarif said the Vienna deal was a clear agreement and the US president has to be able to persuade the Congress and lift anti-Iran sanctions to accurately implement the deal.

Zarif noted that if the US acts otherwise, the world will come to the conclusion that Washington wants to impose its will on others.
CCTV had carried out the interview with the Iranian foreign minister during his one-day visit to China this week.

Zarif arrived at the Chinese capital at the head of a delegation on Monday night for talks with Chinese officials on bilateral and international issues.

Zarif also told CCTV that US problems are related to its internal issues and that the US government has to do its best to implement the JCPOA.

Zarif said the US has to honor its commitments too. 'It makes no difference that the democrats are in office or the republicans. The important issue is that the affairs have to proceed based on the law.'
