TEHRAN (Tasnim) � Iran suffered its fifth loss at the FIVB Volleyball Men�s World Cup 2015 on Thursday.

In the match held in Osaka, Japan, Iran was defeated against USA 3-1 (20-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-21).

USA took one step closer to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games berth.

Matt Anderson led USA on 19 points, while Mohammad Mousavi was Iran�s top scorer with 15 points.

Iran will play host Japan on Friday.

Team Melli has lost to Argentina, Poland, Russia, Italy and USA so far and just defeated Tunisia and Venezuela.

The tournament is a qualification process for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The top two teams will qualify for the Olympics and join Brazil as it has already secured a berth as the host country.
